Muslims by muslims

Bookstores and universities are replet with works of non muslims authors who have written extensively about the new muslims and their realities.

Unfortunately their texts focus more in european and anglo saxon new muslims; in women, certain social classes, or in certain ethnic groups such as Afro Caribbean converts in the US, etc.

They have not explored the diversity of social and cultural backgrounds at a global level that we represent nor the spectrum of our political, social and spiritual views without falling into some form or another of misinterpretation or misrepresentation.

We are concerned about the level of bias that these books carry with them, how they distort the image of muslims and Islam and how they shape the opinions of university´s communities, decision makers, intelectuals, influential people and the general public.

That's why we are looking for a broad representative sample across countries, from Australia and New Zealand, through South Africa, Jamaica, Mexico, Brazil or Japan.

This is why we invite all new muslims from around the world, brothers and sisters, to get involved with this global project, to take the survey and help us to reach the more new muslims we can.

We can not longer rely on others to speak on behalf of us. It is our responsability to lead the dawah at all social levels and present the truth as it is, inshaallah.
